This powerful and evocative modern-day requiem, with sublime harmonies and emotive storytelling, is an opulent composition that seamlessly weaves together Wainwright’s distinctive musical voice with the timeless liturgy of the Latin Requiem Mass.

Gerald Clayton, the six-time Grammy-nominated pianist raised in Altadena, joins the LA Phil for Gershwin’s jazzy and intricate Variations on “I Got Rhythm,” the Palisades Charter High School Band helps kick off the evening with “The Star-Spangled Banner,” and more special guests (to be announced) perform additional symphonic classics.
